I Don’t Know Anymore

2023

Oil paintings on canvas

In my latest series of paintings, I continue to explore the themes initiated in my previous series, ‘Immaculate Reflections.’ Drawing inspiration from friends as my models, I embark on a new artistic journey by introducing vibrant colors and a captivating motif. A distinguishing feature of this series is the stylized depiction of closed eyes on the characters, juxtaposed against a backdrop of surreal hues.

This body of work seamlessly melds symbolism and surrealism. The closed eyes of the subjects invite viewers to look beyond the surface, to unearth the profound truths concealed beneath our everyday reality. The paintings exude a sense of mystique, enveloping the viewer in a contemplative ambiance. The mood is both serene and melancholic, reflecting the tumultuous state of our world.

At its core, this series delves into the human condition, exploring our existence in an existential world that demands introspection and emotional mastery. It encourages viewers to delve into the depths of their imagination and reflective capacity to attain a more profound understanding of both their surroundings and the complex tapestry of human existence.

The series title, “I Don’t Know Anymore”, serves as a powerful testament to the artist’s and the subjects’ shared journey. It underscores the idea that true knowledge remains elusive to those who solely rely on their five senses. Instead, it celebrates the transformative potential of imagination and reflection in revealing the hidden truths that define our world and our place within it.
